Nail Art Challenge 3

Hi! Today is the 3rd nail art challenge and I am very excited to show all of you the manicure I did for today's theme, " Crunchy Leaves" I can't tell you how excited I was for today's theme because I knew what I wanted to do for this. The leaves around here are not quite their fall-ish color just yet but I know it will be soon. My mani that I did today was inspired by the different colors of "crunchy" leaves that you would walk on in the fall.

I used Ulta Sun-Sational, Sun of A Gun, Non-stop Red and Salon Perfect Gold Sparkle. The pictures shown here are with one top coat.  I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Ulta Sale

Hi everybody! How is your weekend going? Mine is going great. I went to Ulta and I wanted to show you what I got.  I was kind of bummed that I didn't get a "free gift with purchase"  but I spent $12 so I got a lip balm for free. Anyway, here are the pictures.

I got 6 bottles of nail polish for $12 (not including tax) Here are what the names are-  sun of a gun, sun-sational, non-stop red, my two cents, snow white and dance teal dawn.

GRRRR.... this is my third bottle of almost the same color.  I can't believe that I accidently bought the same color 3 times!, I think I have short term memory loss or something :) Oh, and here is the lip balm I got for free-
The color is called "Miami" and it is a light pink that I really like.  Stop by tomorrow and see what my 3rd nail art challenge is, Bye!

Hi everybody! Today's  nail challenge is early sunsets.  When I looked at today's challenge I new I wanted to do a technique (a gradient) I have wanted to do but never had the time.  Looking at what my final outcome is I can say that I need a lot more practice and need to invest in a better makeup sponge or better nail polish! Check out all of the other contestants at plumpandpolished.com

Nail Art Challenge 1

Fall, the time when back to school comes faster than the last day of school. If you might have guessed, today is challenge number one. Even though when you read this is will be the next day. Can you guess what the challenge is about?, school. Here is what I came up with, with my small (but growing) collection of nail polish.

If you can't tell what I made I did notebook paper. If this was one of my notebook's this would be covered in drawings I did when I was "supposed" to be taking notes in school. ( Whoops)

Gold dust

Hi everybody, Happy Saturday! Or should I say happy game day for all of you football fans out there :)  Its crazy at my house over here,  all of my cousins, aunts and uncles are over for game day.  I am here to show you a non-related football post (unless your teams colors are black and gold) I picked up this gold sparkle nail polish at Walmart yesterday and wanted to try it out. This is my first product from Salon Perfect and I am very pleased with the out come. My nail art is not that good but I am working on it.  Here is what I came up with.

I think I did much better on this hand because I write with my left hand so I can draw on my right nails better than the left

Here is my left hand and I think my favorite design out of all of these is the leopard/crackle design on my left hand. Happy football day,
Clara

Chevron maxi-inspired

Hi, it's been a while since I posted anything because I forgot to post this yesterday.  Here is a manicure I did yesterday inspired by the chevron maxi dresses I have seen for a long time and wanted to make it into a manicure.  The nail polish I used is L'oreal Tangerine Crush and NYC pool time. The quality of the L'oreal nail polish is the same as the NYC one, I was disappointed that it did not go on very well. I used 3 coats of tangerine crush , one coat of NYC and one clear coat. My nails got messed up because I had barely any time to let it dry before rushing to dance class, oh well.                                                                               Sincerely,
                                                                                             Clarena

Worth it?

Hi everybody, on Friday I shared with you my awesome deal I found. I have had time to review my shopping trip and so here is what I think -
I think the lipstick has a good quality, It went on easy and it lasted for a few hours. The color I got was not to bright and not to invisible, if you know what I mean.

The nail polish was a little watery but I expected that because it was not a salon nail polish.  Here is what my nails look like with it on. I used 2 coats of  Caribbean Frost and then a clear coat.

If you have highly trained eyes you would have noticed that the pinky finger and the finger left of it look a bit more sparkly. (It's okay if you didn't, nobody in my family recognized it either) This is because I accidently got almost the same color of nail polish a few months ago and tested it out to see if there was a difference.
The one on the right has a purplish "sparkle" to it and the one on the left has a more solid shine to it.  So, now I know if I ever go nail polish shopping again I will bring pictures of all the nail polish I own so I will not make the same mistake of getting a duplicate .
                                                       Happy Sunday,
                                                               Clara

Score!

I have been wanting to go to CVS ever since I have started following a couple of  nail blogs ( I mean about 20!) I think the sale was just waiting for me to go. The reason I convinced my dad to take me was I needed to get a gift for someone. After what seemed like 5 minutes (probably longer to my dad) I stumbled upon a buy one get one 50% off wet n wild products. So here is what I got -

The name of the polish is Caribbean Frost. And the name of the lipstick is Light Beige Frost. The grand total is $1.59! I will test these out and tell you what I think in the future.
 Bye for now,
                             Clara

Splits Update!

After 1week my left split is flat, my right one is still a work in progress. Enough with dance. Have any of you seen N.Y.C nail polish?

My grandpa got this for me a couple weeks ago. The cool part is that almost as soon as I got it my mom wanted me to paint her toes for her. Here is her pedicure about 2 weeks later!

It still look's good, doesn't it? I had no trouble putting it on (I used 2 coats of "Pool Time" and one overcoat of "Grand Central Station" It dried in a "New York color minute"  You can find this nail polish for $1.99 at CVS and a smaller version for $0.99.

Zebra Nail Tutorial

Do any of you love to paint your nail's? I know I do, so here is a tutorial on zebra nail's.
This is what my nails look like after I painted them. The first step is to gather up your materials. Here is all the stuff I needed.
I used black nail polish, silver nail polish and a clear coat to seal it. You can substitute silver for white nail polish too.
First Step:
Apply basecoat, this can be either black or silver. I did silver first.

Second Step:
Now you are going to add the stripes, you will need a thin nail brush (or paint brush)or a toothpick to apply the stripes.
Third Step:
All that is left to do is apply a clear coat.
Best wishes,
Clara

Ballet Barre

For those of you who don't  know me I LOVE ballet. Other ballerinas and dancers know that having a ballet bar at home is heaven. My awesome dad made this for me in about 15 min! If I had made this it would have taken me FOREVER to make it.  I just got done with my ballet bar exercises and I am taking a break before I attempt to stretch. (My legs are sore from doing 100 eleves for pre-pointe class) I have set a goal to be able to get my splits flat in one to two weeks, I will update you on my slow progress. If you have noticed the shoes on the ballet bar those are my demi-pointe ballet shoes (Demi-pointe shoes and Pointe shoes look the same)I just got them this week and I am so excited because that mean's I am closer to going on pointe.
                                                                              Back to stretching,

Rainbow Loom

Have you seen them? You probably have not, but if you have been lucky you might have been able to grab one before they are gone.
I found out about the rainbow loom when my grandpa gave me a couple of packets of rubber bands, I didn't know how to make the bracelets so I turned to the Internet and found loads of tutorials on how to make them. I saw the Rainbow Loom kit and just had to have it. I went all the local craft stores and all are on back order or have run out. I had to go to a craft store far away before I was lucky enough to get one. The bracelets you can make look pretty cool, huh? Now you probably see how I got the Rainbow Loom craze. Sorry if you have caught it too:).
                                                               Your truly,
                   Clara
