GOT polish challenge- Dots

Hello! You might have noticed I wasn't able to participate in the last Tri polish challenge for January, before I knew it Tuesday was over and I was never able to get the nail art done, but, I am back and hopefully ready to post every other day.  So today's challenge theme is dots. I have two oldies in my collection, one I use all the time and the other is the first time I have ever used the polish.  I used Revlon Emerald and Revlon Scents Beach.   This is what I came up with-

I think this design would also work for saint Patrick's day.  This nail art is so easy to make with dotting tools.
                                                                            Thanks for looking,

Got Polish Challenge- Blue

Hi! Today is the third day of the got polish challenge and the theme for todays challenge is blue. I was very surprised when I looked at my collection hoard of nail polish and their were only 3 "oldies" that were blue, I had the choice of a sparkle topcoat, a crackle and a sparkly blue, I chose the sparkly blue :)  The polish is called sea siren and is from the brand L. A. Colors, its a mini that I got from JoAnn's.  I decided that for nail art I would use my nail image plates and create an ocean inspired design.

You can almost get away with one coat with sea siren but it was a little bit streaky so I used 2 coats.

I had a lot of fun stamping ocean designs and dots with my new dotting tools.  I guess you can say that I like the color blue and ocean animals :)  What did you create with your golden oldie polishes?
 Thanks for looking,

Tri Polish Challenge- Red, Orange and Yellow

Hello!, sorry for the long break but it was nice to relax for a couple of days.  So today is the third tri polish Tuesday, I cant believe I have made it this far! I was at loss as to what nail art I wanted to incorporate into this challenge so I looked up tri polish challenge and I found this amazing design by Crazy Polishes. So I decided to recreate this design with this months colors. The end result-

I first started with a layer of yellow and then with regular tape I made triangles with the orange and then dotted around the edges of the orange with red.  The yellow took about 3-4 coats and I had to do-over the nails a few times before it was what I wanted. (A note about tape: when you take all of the tape off be sure to wash your hands right after, the tape leaves a sticky residue which catches every particle of dust that is in the air, it left disgusting stuff on my nails) I love this nail design, its cute and dotty, but also geometric.
                                                                  What do you think?

GOT Polish Challenge- Stripes

Hello!, I cannot believe that it is almost Friday! So today is the second challenge of Golden Oldie Thursdays and the theme is stripes. I thought this would be a great way to try out my new striping tape that I got for Christmas.  For this challenge today I used a really old polish that's gets some use once in a while, the reason, I re-discover it because it looks amazing in the bottle... then, not so much, it took around three coats for it even to be bareley opaque and even then it looked terrible, it also has a VERY long dry time between each coat and chips easily.  Do you want to see it?

I was actually very surprised at how nice the striping tape was, I have heard many complaints about the tape getting nail polish under it but I had no problems with it at all (except for trying to find the start of it) The trouble-some polish that I used was Mary Kay Snow Dance and Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Save The Date (I love this polish!)

Tri Polish Challenge- Red Orange and Yellow

Hi! So today we are in the second day of the tri polish challenge, so here is what I came up with.

I think this came out better than I expected. The design I did was a leopard-ish print that included all three colors.  I really liked this, so much that it lasted 4 days!  The polishes I used were what I used last time.                                        Thank you so much for looking,

Nail Mail Round One

Hello! So today I got some nail polish in the mail with my Christmas money (its like a second Christmas!) And two of my four packages came today.  So from my first package I ordered from 8ty8 beauty and I got 8 nail polishes, four from China Glaze and the other four are from Color Club. ( If you don't know what the website is about it is a discount nail polish e-store.)  I ordered my nail polish last Wednesday,  and it got here today.  Luckily none of the nail polishes from either package were damaged.  Here is what I got in the first package.
From left to right: White on White, For Audrey,  Aquadelic and Turned Up Turquoise

From left to right: Worth the Risqué, Positively Posh, Sheer Disguise and Uptown

I knew I wanted teals so I got the china glaze wait teal you see ombre set for $9.00.  I am really excited to try this out! I also needed a grey and a brown for the February Tri Polish Challenge so I managed to get each of those for $3.00.  Uptown and Worth the Risqué were ones that I really wanted, one of the first holo polishes in my collection and also one of the first multicolor glitter flakes. (Those were also there dollars each.) I was going to order a textured polish from 8ty8 beauty but decided on this one from Amazon-

This one is from the Sally Hansen sugar coat textured polishes.  The color is red velvet which I thought would be perfect for a valentines manicure.  I cant wait to get my other two packages and also try on all of these nail polishes!
                                                Bye for now,

Glitter

Hello! Happy Friday. I just wanted to share this quick tip that I had found a couple of days ago. I really like glitter nail polish but it is a PAIN to remove. So after removing my "Christmas in my country manicure" which involved a LOT of nail polish remover and some very cramped fingers I was ready to look for a new solution. So I went onto the internet and looked up ways to take off glittery nail polish I clicked on this link-  peel-off base coat for easy glitter  Do you see that?! This is so easy, now I can enjoy my glittery nail polish without using half of a bottle of nail polish to get it off.  And since I have more than enough bottles of white glue I can wear glitter nail polish forever!  Thanks for sharing this PRETTYPURPLEPOLISH.

Have a great rest of your Friday!

GOT Polish Challenge: Pink

Happy Thursday,  who is ready for the GOT polish challenge (golden oldie Thursdays)?  So the rules are the polish should be at least one year old, or if you have an untried you can use that one too :). When I looked at my nail polish stash I realized many of my oldest nail polish had become separated and they were far from being rescued. So I used my oldest pinks, each were at least 1 year old.  I am really happy that I joined this challenge because many of my oldest nail polishes would have never have been used as often, or at all, than my new polish.  I really didn't want to just "swatch" my golden oldie, so I added some nail art.

I really like how this turned out (one more nail art idea done for 2014 goals!)
Nail Polishes I used are-
  •
  •
  • . 1Sally Hansen Extreme Wear : Fuchsia Power
  • 2. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength: Pink Proposal

 Thanks for stopping by!

Tri-Polish Challenge- Red Orange and Yellow

Hello! This is my very first tri polish Tuesday!, I am very excited to start this challenge.  I knew I wanted to do a waterfall for this first challenge (I can cross it off my goals for 2014, Yay!) So I first started with a white base coat, which was my first mistake,  and then it all came crashing down. Every time I redid my nails it just kept magically chipping, I finally gave up and started painting the red, orange and yellow lines. Here is my final product-

Did you notice the streaking? I have never had that happen before,  this is not one of my most favorite nail art designs that I have done but I guess I am okay with it, although I am taking it off as soon as I get done with this blog post. What do you think, pretty good for my first waterfall, right? :)

Nail Care

Hi! How has your weekend been?  No nail designs for today, I promise their will be one on Tuesday :) I have a question for you- when you want to paint your nails, do you prepare them or do you just go ahead and paint? I used to when I felt the urge to paint my nails I would just go ahead and paint them. For Christmas I got 2 washable/sanatizable files and a buffer/high gloss file, their is a noticeable difference when using them. When I took off my nail polish a couple of days ago I noticed yellowing at the tips, I wanted to prevent this so for now I am painting a topcoat and then the nail polish I choose, until I can find a nice basecoat that will work better. What kind of nail procedure, if at all, do you use when painting your nails?

                                                                       Sincerely yours,                                                                                             Clarena
